Anne is fully certi­fied through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA), is an active member of PMA, is an active member of the Tennessee Asso­ci­a­tion of Dance (TAD), and has over 26 years of expe­ri­ence in the fitness and health industry. Her exten­sive back­ground in dance perfor­mance, chore­og­ra­phy, and teaching as well as theatre perfor­mance led her to embrace Pilates as a natural exten­sion of her life. She holds a master’s degree and her course of study includes corpo­rate training and commu­ni­ca­tion, psychol­ogy, dance, fitness, and nutri­tion.  Anne contin­ues to pursue and enhance her knowl­edge of biome­chan­ics and movement as well as subtle energy and its rela­tion­ship to fascia.

Anne received mat training through Physical Mind; and, received compre­hen­sive training in Reformer, Trap Table, Chair, and Barrels through Balanced Body Univer­sity (BBU) in Atlanta and Asheville. She has done inten­sive study with notable indi­vid­u­als includ­ing second gener­a­tion teachers Kyria Sabin, Rebecca Leone, and Michele Larsson (level 5, mobile spine, scol­io­sis); and, first gener­a­tion teacher Jay Grimes, as well as with Kit Laughlin (stretch therapy).  Having been accepted into Balanced Body University’s Passing the Torch™ exclu­sive Pilates mentor­ship program, Anne is very honored to have studied with first gener­a­tion Pilates Master – Ron Fletcher. She contin­ues study of Fletcher work includ­ing use of his signa­ture Fletcher Towel­work® and Percus­sive Breath­ing™. Anne is one of only a few licensed Fletcher providers in the southeast.

Anne has a gentle and chal­leng­ing style; and, she enjoys working with all types of clients – very young to very old, male and female, those with back or hip issues, as well as dancers and athletes. Drawing from all elements of her very diverse expe­ri­ence, she consid­ers herself a movement therapist.  She is passion­ate about her work and her goal is to help others achieve a sustain­able way of life through the Pilates method – nour­ish­ing and prolong­ing one’s authen­tic body and spirit.
