Christine Thomas
Instructor
Christine Thomas takes pride in making Pilates challenging and fun. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the fundamentals of Joseph Pilates while integrating modern techniques and equipment. Christine received her Pilates training with internationally renowned Polestar Pilates where she mastered using the Reformer, Trapeze Table, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Mat, and small props. Each of these pieces of equipment challenges the body and mind in unique ways culminating in a holistic approach to strength and wellness.
In addition to her training with Polestar, Christine has continued her education with Seattle based, Rebecca Leone’s Pilates Excel workshop as well as a intensive coursework with Lolita San Miguel (1st generation Pilates instructor and 1 of only 2 people certified by Joseph Pilates himself). She holds a bachelors degree in political science from Florida Atlantic University and a Masters degree in Campaign Management from George Washington University.
Christine is originally from South Florida and has lived in Chattanooga for 5 years.
Prior to her involvement with Pilates, Christine has over fifteen years experience teaching ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics and gymnastics. Christine is a certified dance instructor with Florida Dance Masters and a member of the Tennessee Dance Association. Christine currently offers mat, reformer, and private lessons at Pilates Tonic.
