Here is what Rebecca has to say about her upcoming Historic Reformer/Mat workshops:
After years of being asked to teach primary education, I'm finally ready to do it and, for 2010, I am utterly delighted to begin by bringing BASIC, INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED Reformer & BASIC Mat to Pilates Tonic in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
In a 5-day intensive course from Tuesday, August 17 - Saturday, August 21, you'll learn the anatomy of Pilates, performance fundamentals & problem solving and each of the historic BASIC Reformer and Mat exercises, from scratch with no assumed prior knowledge. You'll also learn all equipment set up, transitions and common modifications. Materials include a printed manual plus a dvd.
Perfect for the dedicated client as well as those aspiring to teach but also for established teachers who wish to renew their skills or learn the historic work from a second generation teacher. The only certification in the Pilates industry is the PMA Standards Exam and that test is based on the historic work - so is this workshop.
In a second 5-day intensive course, the INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED REFORMER (no MAT) will be held November 30 - December 4. All may register but only able bodies can participate due to the strenuous nature of the content and, ideally, previous Rebecca Leone workshop experience is preferred but not required.
To finish your historic foundation education, in 2011 and in two-three more 4-6 day formats, I will be bringing Cadillac, Chair, Barrels & Intermediate & Advanced Mat to Pilates Tonic. The structure of these workshops is designed to complete your historic BASIC, INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED Equipment & Mat education within a 2 year period.

USE THIS COURSE TO LAUNCH YOUR TEACHING CAREER!
If you're new to teaching, immediately after completing this BASIC Mat & Reformer course you'll be ready to take on a teaching shift.
USE THIS COURSE TO QUALIFY TO SIT FOR THE PMA CERTIFICATION EXAM!
If you're interested in sitting for the PMA Professional Standards Exam – the only 3rd party professional standards exam in the world - this course is for you! At the conclusion of the August BASIC course you'll be ready to begin logging the required 720 hours of teaching within a 12 month period - that's the required teaching component to qualify you to sit for the PMA exam.
Sequence matters:
For someone using Pilates Excel - Foundation to launch their teaching career and for folks for whom this is their first introduction to the Historic work, it's imperative that you take the BASIC Reformer/Mat FIRST. That's because the initial BASIC Reformer/Mat course forms the base into which filter all the other exercises included in all the other courses. Without the BASIC, you won't have a place to add the more advanced levels. For all others, you can pick and choose whichever courses most interest you.
INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED Reformer
