Pilates Fundamentals: How to Painlessly Lift Your Head, Neck and Shoulders

Sydney Video Training 10 Comments

It has been a long-term goal of mine to put the fundamental movements of Pilates on video to share with you. With video I’ll be able to share some of the imagery that has made such a huge difference in my own practice.

In this first of a series on the fundamentals, I’ll show you the proper way to lift your head off the mat using the wheel and pulley cue.

Please feel free to leave a question or comment below—I’d love to know if this helped.

If you’d like to see a video demo of anything in particular, let me know that too!

See you at the studio!

P.S. – You can learn more about how to “smile across your hip bones” here (#6).

  3. Hi Sidney, Great video! I think you are awesome and love your classes, unfortunately with a small child, I don’t have the flexibility to make it to your classes off the mountain. Pilates is so good for your body and I loved how it changed my body. Your passion for Pilates makes you a great instructor and hopefully soon I will be able to return to your studio. Keep up the great work and I hope to see you soon. Leah Gallant
