How Standing on One Leg Can Improve Your Gait

Today’s video builds on the last one… What I love about the exercise in today’s video is how easy it is to incorporate into your routine, anywhere you are. It’s also super functional and directly translates into better balance and walking with much more efficiency.

I’ll be building on this foundational move in the next video and explaining more about how it relates to walking.

For now, check out “Standing On One Leg” and please share any feedback or questions in the comments below.

Sending love and wishing you all the very best during this challenging time.

P.S. With our current socially-distant and shelter-in-place status, we’ve decided to launch a library of classes we began putting together earlier this year.

We’re still working out the production and technical kinks, but I think you’ll still seriously benefit from all the exercises and I wanted to get this into your hands now rather than when it was “perfect.”

Right now, in order to make this immediately available and helpful, we’re offering 30-day complimentary passes to all. In addition, if you decide to remain a member after 30 days, you’ll get the current founder rate and you’ll keep that subscription price forever, as long as you remain a member.

Become a founding member and get 30 days of complimentary classes when you go to the Pilates Tonic Online membership site and sign up—we’ll see you on the inside!

  1. So happy you’re back. I have used the hip release video for years teaching yoga classes and it’s helped so many. You are a treasure. Thanks Sydney.

  2. Sydney – I have a very slow elevator where I live and it takes a minute to get to our floor..so I’ve been practicing this all the way up and down several times a day. I touch the walls of the elevator for balance. I’m glad you said to put your hip back and get on your heel, because I cheat sometimes and lean forward.
