Chronic Leg Tension and Knee Discomfort? These Two Moves Can Break the Cycle

There are times when you need your muscles to work and times when you need them to relax.

Most of us have the working part down. But the relaxing part? Not so much.

Ever notice your shoulders creeping up toward your ears for no reason? That’s a prime example of muscles working when they really don’t need to, creating unnecessary tension.

And chronic unnecessary tension keeps your body feeling tight, no matter how much you stretch.

In today’s video, you’ll learn two similar-looking exercises with totally different goals:

  • One works and strengthens your quads (the muscles on the front of your thighs) while keeping your knee straight.
  • The other invites your quads to relax while your knee is straight, so you can stretch your hamstrings, the muscles on the back of your legs, more effectively.

Same position, different purpose—and both are super helpful.

After you try it, I’d love to hear how it went—just reply to this email or leave a comment below.
